Mila The 3 Legged Dog Rescued From Keningau , Sabah

Dog with multiple bite wounds on her right front leg was found abandoned on the side of the road in Keningau , Sabah .

She was unable to move , not knowing what's gonna happen to her and waited for hours for someone to help her . Thank God that a kind lady had discovered her while lying helplessly on the ground and contacted ALIR for assistant.

We received the report and made an arrangement with Dr Freska from Klinik Haiwan & Surgeri Keningau to accept the case under our account.

The kind lady rushed the poor dog to the clinic and as soon as Mila and her rescuer arrived , the dog was examine by the vet . It turned out that Mila had multiple bite wounds and a fractured front leg from being attacked by bigger animals and it was also infected.

Poor Mila was on antibiotic , anti inflammatory and daily wound dressing for 5 days at the vet clinic in Keningau before she was transfered to the vet clinic in Tuaran to undergo radiographic examination , further orthopaedic  diagnosis and for further treatments.

Mila was safely arrived from Keningau to Tuaran with the help of our runner and she was immediately sent to the X-ray room to be examine. The result showed that Mila's front leg was severely fractured and needed to be amputate or else she will be in pain for the rest of her life.

The amputation surgery was succesfully done by the vet and Mila's face expression has totally changed and she's obviously happier after the surgery.

Cost of the surgery and the treatment fees at both clinics (KHSK & KHST) is in total of RM1570 (RM490 + RM1070) and we in need of help from 157 kind hearted animal lovers to donate RM10 per person in order for us to reach the total that needed for Mila's vet fees.

Tigger, the dog with broken legs who was left to die

πŸ†˜️πŸ†˜️πŸ“Œ Please help Tigger, the dog with broken legs who was left to die πŸ™πŸ˜  He was once loved, but after he was hit by a car while guarding his home and broke both of his hind legs. His owner decided to leave him to die without getting the treatment he desperately needed.  Tigger arrived at the clinic with severe injuries and in extreme pain. His X-ray images revealed that he broke both of his femur bones, and the vet explained that the surgery to repair the broken thigh is complicated and expensive, and it takes a few months for Tigger to fully heal.  The 1st surgery to insert the IM pins into both of the femurs was done, but it showed signs of complications a week after the surgery, and Tigger was once again rushed to the surgery room to drain the abscess, which infected the intramedullary implant.  The second surgery was successfully done, and he needs to be on cage rest for around 6 to 8 weeks to prevent further complications after surgery.  The to...

Pororo the cat with broken , wounded legs and sporo infection

S.O.S !!! Help needed for Pororo the cat with broken , wounded legs and sporo infection. We received a heartbreaking message from a volunteer who discovered this cat with several wounds and a fractured hind leg in Putatan, Sabah.  Pororo, the cat, was safely turned over to our staff after the first vet at another pet clinic declined to treat him. The cat was near death, suffering from agony, weakness, and extreme dehydration. Pororo's organ was going to shut down owing to dehydration, but thank goodness he arrived at the clinic on time. The X-ray results revealed that he had broken one of his hind legs, and the wound on the other hind leg was seriously infected, with maggots still consuming his rotting flesh.  Because of his fragile state, he was placed on an intravenous drip to stay hydrated, and after nearly a week, he is finally ready for the limb amputation procedure.  The vet has noticed another health issue, this time a wound on his nose. The skin test confirm...
