- How we started -
The founder of ALIR and her partner are an animal lover since they were kids. They grew up taking care of family pets such as dogs , cats , monkeys , horses , goats , snake , geese , buffalo , rabbits and lots more.

They always been so dedicated in caring for animals since young and their life changed after they rescued their 1st blind puppy in 2009.

The poor puppy was seen alone on the side of the road in Kota Belud , Sabah . Worried if the puppy might got hit by a car , they decided to take the puppy home and they noticed that the puppy has few unusual habit that they never seen from other dogs before but still didn't know that the puppy was actually blind.

3 months after they brought the puppy home , one of the family member came to visit and notice the unusual habit of their 1st rescued puppy that they named Chuggy then told Dd & Aldrin that the puppy was possibly blind.

Never in their mind would ever thought that the puppy was blind , so they brought Chuggy to their local vet clinic for examination and yes , Chuggy was born blind.

That really struck both of them and they were glad that they made a right decision to pick her up and brought her home with them , or else she would had died from being hit by car or fell into the drain.

After Chuggy's case they started to adopt more homeless dogs that were sick from the street of Kota Belud and brought them to the vet clinic for treatment.

They also adopted old and sick dogs that owner wanted to abandoned on the street or euthanized them , took care of disable animals and they has experiences in handlings fierce dogs , they adopted those unwanted dogs with behaviour issues and train them.

It has been 12 years since they rescued their 1st dog and NOW ALIR had rescued , treat and rehomed thousand of animals and currently still taking care of over 200 dogs at cats at shelter and fosterer homes.

Tigger, the dog with broken legs who was left to die

πŸ†˜️πŸ†˜️πŸ“Œ Please help Tigger, the dog with broken legs who was left to die πŸ™πŸ˜  He was once loved, but after he was hit by a car while guarding his home and broke both of his hind legs. His owner decided to leave him to die without getting the treatment he desperately needed.  Tigger arrived at the clinic with severe injuries and in extreme pain. His X-ray images revealed that he broke both of his femur bones, and the vet explained that the surgery to repair the broken thigh is complicated and expensive, and it takes a few months for Tigger to fully heal.  The 1st surgery to insert the IM pins into both of the femurs was done, but it showed signs of complications a week after the surgery, and Tigger was once again rushed to the surgery room to drain the abscess, which infected the intramedullary implant.  The second surgery was successfully done, and he needs to be on cage rest for around 6 to 8 weeks to prevent further complications after surgery.  The to...

Pororo the cat with broken , wounded legs and sporo infection

S.O.S !!! Help needed for Pororo the cat with broken , wounded legs and sporo infection. We received a heartbreaking message from a volunteer who discovered this cat with several wounds and a fractured hind leg in Putatan, Sabah.  Pororo, the cat, was safely turned over to our staff after the first vet at another pet clinic declined to treat him. The cat was near death, suffering from agony, weakness, and extreme dehydration. Pororo's organ was going to shut down owing to dehydration, but thank goodness he arrived at the clinic on time. The X-ray results revealed that he had broken one of his hind legs, and the wound on the other hind leg was seriously infected, with maggots still consuming his rotting flesh.  Because of his fragile state, he was placed on an intravenous drip to stay hydrated, and after nearly a week, he is finally ready for the limb amputation procedure.  The vet has noticed another health issue, this time a wound on his nose. The skin test confirm...
